Meet the team

Dave Clapp setup County Insurance in 2003 which in time turned into one of the UK’s top 25 Brokers specialising in personal and commercial insurance. After dedicating 15 years to building and growing the company he successfully sold it in 2018.

Dave has a portfolio of investments, one being The InsureLife Group whom he founded in 2019 with Adam and John. His expertise has helped to mentor the business to where it is today as the Groups Chairman.

With a passion for the insurance industry and a wealth of experience, Dave ventured back into the insurance sector in 2021 as CEO in The Broker Investment Group.

Adam is the Managing Director at The InsureLife Group and is a client facing advisor.

Having started his career in Insurance in 2014 looking after high net worth private clients at The County Group he moved into Financial Services where he very much found his niche and passion for insurance and a few years later worked for a Wealth Management Firm then began his journey working with the Armed Forces in 2018 and still does to this day as heads up our INSUREMILITARY division having founded the business in 2019 with fellow directors Dave Clapp and John Stephenson.

Prior to this Adam worked in Luxury retail for 12 years and in his spare time enjoys spending time with his wife Nicky and their 2 children Alf and Evy and enjoys eating, sleeping and watch shopping.

John is the Business Development Director at The InsureLife Group and the Manging Director at our sister business The Forces Transition Group (FTG) and works in the Transitional Military Community Space.

Having had a long career within the Armed Forces, the FTG specialises in the career paths of those leaving the services, their families, ex-forces, and blue light. After John struggled to adapt to civilian life on exiting the Military, the FTG was set up to create a much higher understanding of the real world and how that translates to those leaving the forces, increasing their professional brand, and creating job acceleration through strong business partnerships.

John is married to Mandy (who also works as a Group Business Manager in the FTG), has two children Alicia and Jasmine and a Grandson James who is one. Football is his passion, unfortunately Sunderland AFC is his team!

Richard fell into the Insurance Industry around 20 years ago and he has never left, or is it, never got out!?

As the Sales Director at Insure Life, he seeks to assist the team in developing product and industry knowledge along with helping them develop themselves, which he feels strongly about. This falls into a cliché saying of ‘People by off People’ as he is committed to delivering high-quality advice for all his clients, whether that be personal insurance, business protection or private healthcare.

Out of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, going to watch his beloved football club, Liverpool and of course socialising with friends and colleagues.

Ritchie joined The Insure Life Group from a footballing background having spent over 20 years in the professional and semi-professional game. When his career was coming to the latter stages he fell into the insurance industry and not looked back.

He believes there are a great deal of transferable skills that you take out of football and has applied these to life beyond sport and had great success in providing high quality advise to clients from all backgrounds, most recently in the sporting industry putting protection policies in place for all areas of life including Life Insurance, Critical illness, Income Protection, Private Medical Insurance and Injury cover for everyday life.

Being a family man, Ritchie spends a lot of time with his wife and kids outside of work however still has a love for football and the gym as it’s all about getting the balance right.

Nicky is the PA to the directors and is our Group Accounts Manager providing aftercare services to our clients.

Nicky joined The InsureLife Group in April 2024 having previously spent the last 16 years working for the NHS in various roles within children and family services.

In her spare time which she has little of after looking after the InsureLife team and her own team at home she can be found either running, cooking or watching a good box set series on Netflix.
